The more I thought about the cuddly critter after I'd watched this funny and heart warming short, the more I liked him.
Badger is aiming for a big sleep, but try as he might he can't seem to get his head down. The neighbours are noisy and humans don't care what they put beneath his burrow.
Sharon Colman's Oscar-nominated animation is charming, reminiscent of Quentin Blake, but with a style of its own. She has the sense to keep things simple, while still making a point. Although there is slapstick here, there is also a message - about our abuse of the countryside.
Special mention must be made of Rupert Degas's vocal talents (snoring and cawing) and Peter Gosling's perfect woodwind score.
